Senior Director Pharmacy Contracting

Job Summary And Qualifications The Sr Director, Pharmacy Contracting is responsible for negotiating industry leading national agreements for the group purchasing organization in the area of Pharmacy. The role ensures best in class industry pricing and contract terms, focusing on high spend categories with complexity, risk, and sensitivity. The candidate must have a strong background in negotiation, contract terms, and risk mitigation, and be able to think independently, identify risks, devise solutions under pressure, and identify cost savings opportunities. The Sr Director leads a back‑office team and provides strategic direction regarding suppliers, projects, client needs, and senior leadership input. What you will do in this role: Collaboratively plan, manage, and execute sourcing and contracting projects across assigned categories, delivering financial savings. Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned categories, maintaining deep knowledge of products, market dynamics, cost drivers, regulatory developments, and end‑user needs. Develop and execute supplier strategies leveraging market intelligence, supplier financials, technology roadmaps, and competitive insights to drive value and mitigate risk. Lead complex sourcing initiatives end‑to‑end, including market research, RFI/RFP development, negotiations, contract awards, and contract launches. Create, validate, and adapt contracting strategies in collaboration with clinicians, executives, and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational objectives. Present category strategies, sourcing outcomes, and recommendations to advisory boards, executive leadership, and governance forums with clarity and influence. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers, including negotiation of enterprise‑wide agreements and representation at industry events and site visits. Portfolio Management Manage, maintain, and improve the performance of the assigned contract portfolio, both operationally and financially. Understand supplier new product offerings and collaborate with advisory board lead and business unit leader to assess products. Coordinate with sourcing, account management and other team members to maximize program value under agreements. Work with other HealthTrust teams to capture full value from contracts, including rebates, admin fees, and contract connectivity. Oversee contract implementation with suppliers and communicate implementation to HealthTrust account management. Perform other duties as assigned. What qualifications you will need: College Graduate - Required Contract negotiation - Required Strategic sourcing - Required Contract management - Required Healthcare Knowledge - Preferred 7+ years of relevant work experience preferred; ideal candidate will have a proven track‑record of achieving results in strategic sourcing and negotiation within the pharmaceutical industry.
