Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides specialized therapy services to students across elementary grades 1 through 6. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders to support students' academic and social success. The SLP collaborates with educators and families to develop individualized treatment plans and promotes effective communication skills within the school environment. This position requires an active South Carolina SLP license, teaching certification, and ASHA CCCs, with a caseload of approximately 37 students.

Responsibilities:

Conduct speech and language assessments for students in elementary grades 1-6.
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs.
Provide direct speech-language therapy services to assigned caseload.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student communication goals.
Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy sessions.
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education services.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Active South Carolina Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
South Carolina teaching certification.
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA CCCs).
Experience working with elementary school-aged children.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 37 students.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience with a diverse student population.
Familiarity with educational technology and therapy tools.
Additional training in specialized speech or language disorders.

Special Considerations:

Position requires in-person work within the school setting.
Must comply with school district policies and state education regulations.
Work involves interaction with children and school personnel.

Scheduling:

Full-time position with 37.5 hours per week.
Standard school hours aligned with the academic calendar.
Start date ASAP through May 24, 2027.
