Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Acute Rehab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years acute rehab experience required License: Michigan RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - 2 years acute rehab experience Description: Client within the inpatient setting is provided by professionals who possess a depth and breadth of knowledge for patients who are acutely ill across the life span and multiple body systems. Clinical reasoning skills are utilized to evaluate patients with unstable medical conditions, consider surgical interventions, collaborate and communicate with other healthcare professionals, and use an evidence-based approach for customizing treatment. Evaluation results are critical in helping to create an optimal plan of care and identifying discharge considerations. Clinical judgment skills are used to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. Assessment, monitoring, detection, planning, and appropriate action are taken to prevent potential physiological complications and promote the optimal level of health. Accountability for integrating care is within the scope of practice licensure, relevant education, and experience. Reports to the shift Team Leader and is accountable to the Department Manager. Utilizes policies and procedures to guide job duties. Key responsibilities include collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate an individualized written plan of care. This plan is based upon a physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessment consistent with patient and significant others' changing needs and goals. Seeks lifelong learning through certification, advanced practice, higher education, and literature review. Demonstrates leadership by sharing knowledge, being a clinical resource, and serving as a professional role model. Demonstrates effective communication through collegial relationships and interdisciplinary communication. Demonstrates enhanced time management skills and the ability to assist others to contribute to the overall performance of the team. Performs other duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed by general and unit-specific competency-based objectives.
