Vehicle Maintenance Technician DOT

Responsibilities Maintain all vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and passenger comfort in accordance with contractual requirements and SP+ Fleet Services standards. Perform quality maintenance inspections and repairs on all assigned vehicles and equipment. Perform all maintenance duties in a safe and efficient, cost‑effective manner. Maintain technical competency on assigned equipment and vehicles and actively engage in ongoing training and development programs offered by the company. Qualifications High School Degree or equivalent required. Graduation from an approved technical school is a plus. Prior experience as a Mechanic or Vehicle Maintenance Technician and/or with heavy fleet vehicles preferred. Possess or willing to obtain all applicable ASE certifications. Valid CDL Class A, B, or C driver’s license (and passenger endorsement if required) per DOT regulations. CDL not required if operating shuttle buses with maximum passenger capacity of 14 or less. DOT Medical Card (Medical Examiner’s Certificate) required. Must have all necessary hand tools to perform maintenance duties. Availability to work special shift requirements, including 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends, if applicable. Minimum age 21 years or older. Language skills: read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and present information to customers and employees. Mathematical skills: basic arithmetic with American currency. Appearance: maintain a neat and clean appearance and be in uniform at all times. Physical demands: stand, walk, use hands; occasionally sit, climb; lift up to 100 pounds.
