Assistant Finance Director

Are you a collaborative, detail-driven financial professional looking to make a meaningful impact in local government? The Village of Round Lake Beach is seeking an Assistant Finance Director to help lead our financial operations and support a community-focused organization. In this key leadership role, you'll manage core accounting functions, oversee monthly financial processes, prepare essential financial reports, and guide a dedicated finance team. You'll also serve as the designee for the Finance Director, stepping in to support decision-making and staff leadership when needed. What You'll Do: Ensure accuracy by overseeing general and subsidiary ledgers, reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly closes. Prepare financial statements, bank reconciliations, payroll audits, and other critical reports. Support utility billing and customer service functions with professionalism and efficiency. Recommend improvements that strengthen internal controls and enhance financial processes. Lead, mentor, and develop Finance Department staff. What You Bring: A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. At least three years of supervisory or management experience.
