School-Based Paraprofessional: Inspire & Support Students

Job Description Minimum 1+ years paraprofessional or special education experience required. Location and Position Location: Fort Lupton, CO Position: School-Based Paraprofessional Job Summary The Weld County School District RE-8 is seeking a dedicated and passionate School-Based Paraprofessional to join our team in Fort Lupton, Colorado. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and staff to support students' educational and developmental needs, ensuring a positive and effective learning environment. Key Responsibilities Assist teachers in delivering instructional activities and lessons. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs or learning difficulties. Monitor and support students in various school settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and lunchrooms. Help with classroom management and organization. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and resources. Support students in developing social skills and positive behaviors. Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students. Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred. Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with children. Required Certificates Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Paraprofessional Authorization (required if you do not have an associate's degree or higher or 48 semester hours of college coursework). CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred but can be obtained after hiring). Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Ability to kneel, bend, and reach as necessary to assist students. Working Conditions Full-time position during the school year. Hours may vary based on school schedules and needs. Work primarily in a school setting, with occasional outdoor supervision.
