Job Title

Registered Nurse – PICU (Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool)

Location

Charleston, SC | Acute Care / Pediatric Critical Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Pediatric Critical Care setting with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3
• Float within scope to all Pediatric units as needed, including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
• Participate in every-other-weekend and holiday rotation requirements
• Adhere to unit scheduling needs, including emergency response assignments during hurricane season (June–November)
• Maintain active BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association only)

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN License or Multi-State/Compact RN License (South Carolina license must be active prior to start date)
• BLS certification – American Heart Association only
• PALS certification – American Heart Association only
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be considered as a standard travel candidate; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the facility system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)
• Experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
• Familiarity with float pool or multi-unit pediatric environments
