Job Summary The Behavioral Health Technician is accountable to the standard practices defined in the Behavioral Health Technician Performance Standards. The technician participates as a member of the patient care team following completion of the formalized orientation program and nursing tech program. The technician functions under and is responsible to the staff nurse and Director of Behavioral Health Services, observes and obtains information, understands the range of treatment needed by patients, and reports significant findings to appropriate caregivers to ensure that appropriate care is provided to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Responsibilities As a member of the patient care team, the Behavioral Health Technician collaborates with nursing staff to deliver care, document observations, and communicate patient needs and findings promptly to ensure effective treatment across all age groups. Requirements Preferred: High School Diploma Less than 2 years previous experience as a Behavioral Health Technician is preferred.
