Teacher for the Visually Impaired

Starting Date: Aug 3, 2026 Position Overview Morehouse Parish School District is seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Special Education Teacher – Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) to serve students from PreK through 12th grade. This itinerant position provides specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across multiple school sites. The TVI will deliver direct and consultative services aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), support access to the general education curriculum, and collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to ensure equitable and meaningful educational opportunities. Travel between schools is required, and services may be provided in homes, daycares, or community-based settings as appropriate. Job Goal Ensure students with visual impairments have equitable access to high‑quality instruction and the general education curriculum by providing specialized instruction, consultation, and support services aligned with LDOE policies, IDEA, and best practices in visual impairment education.
