Olympic College is continuously recruiting for Mathematics Instruction & Classroom Support Tech-Tutor positions that may occur throughout the year. This position will be responsible for helping students develop knowledge, insight, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills in Mathematics course materials. Part-time positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Individuals who apply to the applicant pool are considered active for a period of 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur. Essential Functions
- Assist students in analyzing assignments and assigned readings.
- Assist students in interpreting and understanding mathematical concepts.
- Assist students in developing critical thinking and mathematical communication skills.
- Assisting students in developing effective study habits and skills.
- Assist students working in an online format.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Reference from an instructor or professor if you are a current Olympic College student.
- High School Graduate, Equivalent, or Current Running Start Student.
- Completion of MATH 141 (or equivalent course) with a decimal grade of 3.5 or higher.
- Basic computer competency
Desired Qualifications:
- College teaching or previous tutoring experience preferred.
- Completion of Math 141, Math 142, Math 151, Math 152, and Math 163 or equivalent courses with grades of 3.5 or higher.
- Successful applicants will demonstrate excellence in Mathematics.
- Follow campus regulations local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and ordinances.
- Work various hours.
- Work successfully in a high-attendance, high-volume study center.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Be adaptable and flexible.
- Possess excellent customer service skills; including building and maintaining internal/external customer satisfaction.
- Possess an appreciation of diversity and the benefits of a commitment to cultural awareness and sensitivity in the workplace.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the Olympic College mission, vision and values.

Additional Information
Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.
Hourly employees must work 480 hours in a rolling six-month period to become eligible for health benefits. Hourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement. This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week, with a salary of $20.49-$27.28 per hour* . They are not initially eligible for benefits upon hire but could qualify for the following.

Conditions of Employment:
