Overview

A rapidly scaling global FinTech platform is seeking a Head of AI to lead the development of next-generation AI‑powered products, intelligent automation, recommendation systems, and AI‑native engineering capabilities. The company operates a large‑scale, real‑time financial platform serving tens of millions of users across more than 150 markets and regions, with billions in daily transaction activity. The organization is investing heavily in AI as a strategic pillar to enhance customer experience, platform intelligence, automation, and developer productivity.

This is a high‑impact leadership role for an individual eager to shape AI strategy and architecture on a global scale, addressing complex real‑world challenges in recommendation systems, LLM applications, AI infrastructure, and intelligent automation.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company’s AI vision, roadmap, and technical strategy across multiple AI domains.
• Lead and scale a high‑performing AI engineering and algorithms team.
• Drive the development of AI‑powered capabilities, including:
  • Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Intelligent customer interaction systems
  • Personalized recommendation systems
  • AI‑native engineering productivity initiatives
• Build scalable AI platforms, reusable infrastructure, and production‑grade ML systems.
• Lead deployment of recommendation and personalization pipelines, including:
  • Retrieval
  • Ranking
  • Re‑ranking
  • Recommendation optimization
• Architect and productionize LLM‑powered applications leveraging:
  • Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Fine‑tuning
  • Agent frameworks
  • Multi‑modal AI workflows
  • Enterprise knowledge systems
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business leadership to align AI investments with measurable business impact.
• Foster a strong engineering culture, technical standards, and talent development practices within the AI organization.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends in generative AI, AI infrastructure, developer tooling, and applied AI systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines; advanced degrees preferred.
• 8–15+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with prior experience leading technical teams or large‑scale AI initiatives.
• Proven experience deploying AI systems into production at scale.
• Strong hands‑on experience with recommendation systems, including:
  • Retrieval
  • Ranking
  • Re‑ranking
  • Personalization systems
• Deep practical experience building and deploying LLM applications, including:
  • Prompt engineering
  • Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Fine‑tuning
  • Agent workflows
  • AI evaluation frameworks
• Experience building enterprise‑grade AI knowledge systems and scalable AI infrastructure.
• Strong business and product understanding, with the ability to translate AI capabilities into measurable operational impact.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

• Experience with leading global technology companies, large‑scale consumer platforms, or AI‑native organizations; MAANG backgrounds are highly preferred.
• Experience building AI platforms, MLOps ecosystems, or internal AI infrastructure frameworks.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants and AI‑native engineering workflows.
• Mandarin Chinese language capability is highly preferred, as the role involves frequent collaboration with regional stakeholders and engineering teams across APAC.
