Civil CAD Designer

Description The CAD Designer is a technical support role in our Houston, TX office. You will work on a variety of projects ranging in size but of equal in importance. You will be exposed to all aspects of site development civil engineering design. Responsibilities Using established CAD standards and design criteria to design civil infrastructure and site improvements and prepare construction plan drawings based on that design, under the direction and supervision of a project lead. Be diligent in organizing and scheduling work to accomplish goals on projects within established timelines. Must not be shy or scared to ask questions or for help. We are a team! Coordination with jurisdictional agencies, plan reviewers, engineers and other design team members. Cannot be afraid or unwilling to make phone calls. Plotting and assembling construction plans, exhibits, specifications, etc. Assist in the oversight of CAD systems & standards. Requirements Education/Certification High School graduate or GED required. Post High School technical coursework, certification or degree in computer drafting/design or related field. Professional Responsive and results oriented in service to clients. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD/ Civil 3D, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in design of water, sewer, streets, grading and drainage projects is a plus, but you will be exposed and trained on these things. It is more important to be open to learning these things. Demonstrated ability to develop solid working relationships with other team members. We are a close-knit team who enjoy joking around and have a lighthearted demeanor.
