CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital (CSRH‑NB) is a 94‑bed facility located in downtown New Braunfels, offering comprehensive services such as outpatient imaging, orthopedic and surgical care, rehabilitation, a birthing center with 24/7 neonatal coverage, emergency and wound care, hyperbaric therapy, 3D mammography, and cardiovascular diagnostics and procedures. Summary The registered nurse will practice independently within a similar clinical setting, provide routine to complex care, set long‑range goals, manage contingencies, and delegate tasks to support the clinical team. The nurse will continue to develop skills for coping with and managing nursing contingencies. Responsibilities

• Meet the OneCHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, applying the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation to assigned patients.
• Address the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in alignment with the level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocol, monitor for side effects, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and deliver education to patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.

Job Requirements Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Experience: 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred. Licenses: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Registered Nurse license in the state of employment or a state‑compact license. Position Requirements All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and must complete the designated organizational entry competency and the Critical Care Department‑specific competency validation. Complete all annual competency verification requirements. One year of experience in a Critical Care setting preferred; new graduates are also welcome. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required. In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification, and Registration Verification Policy, all associates must obtain the required certifications for their positions within the designated time frame. Credential Grace Periods Experienced Associates Basic Life Support (BLS) – No grace period. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Within 30 days of hire. Pediatric Life Support (PALS) – Within 30 days of hire. Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) – Within 60 days of hire. Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) – Within 60 days of hire. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Within 30 days of hire. AWHONN INTERMEDIATE FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) – Within 30 days of hire. STABLE (Neonatal Education) – Within 30 days of hire. New Graduates & Experienced Associates New to the Specialty Basic Life Support (BLS) – No grace period. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Within 90 days of hire. Pediatric Life Support (PALS) – Within 90 days of hire. Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) – Within 18 months of hire. Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) – Within 18 months of hire. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Within 60 days of hire. AWHONN INTERMEDIATE FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) – Within 60 days of hire. STABLE (Neonatal Education) – Within 60 days of hire.
