Hazardous Waste Technician

SITE EHS TECHNICIAN Responsibilities Leads and champions the overall engagement and "safety culture" in the Plant. Acts as in-plant voice for EHS related issues, concentrating on at risk behaviors and conditions throughout the facility Verifies compliance with EHS standards, through auditing, observations and inspections Reviews written procedures to verify accuracy; lockout, & SOP’s Leads Safety Committee Participates in accident investigations and follow up on corrective actions identified through completion Tracks the following programs and identifies deficiencies; training database, roll-out compliance, and safety inspections Files EHS & Safety documentation according to both company and legal guidelines Conducts new-hire safety orientation Creates new programs and initiatives to increase overall safety awareness and engagement for plant employees. Coordinates waste handling including emergency response procedures Implements recycling initiatives Maintains current inventory of safety data sheets for all materials on-site Leads and plans monthly "Safety Kaizens" to address areas of opportunities and safety concerns.
