Chief Strategy Officer - FILLED

Saint Francis Health System, a Catholic, not-for-profit health system wholly governed and operated in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has an opportunity to join their executive team as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Morgan Hunter HealthSearch has been retained to assist them with this key search.


The health system is anchored by Saint Francis Hospital, a 1,112-bed tertiary center, which includes the region's only children's hospital and level IV neonatal intensive care unit, a 168-bed heart hospital and Tulsa's leading trauma and emergency center. Other facilities within the system include Saint Francis South Hospital, Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital, Saint Francis Hosptial Muskogee and Saint Francis Hospital Vinita. A broad clinic system also includes nearly 100 locations. Additionally, Saint Francis is a 50/50 partner in CommunityCare Oklahoma, a managed care organization.


The CSO reports to the system CEO, and is a member of the system executive team. The CSO will lead efforts to identify and oversee the development, implementation and sustainment of strategies to grow and differentiate Saint Francis as a market leader in Eastern Oklahoma. These strategies may include developing business opportunities to establish partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, innovative business models and programs, and payors. This highly visible role will work collaboratively across the system and externally to enhance the reach of Saint Francis. The CSO will directly oversee the Corporate Communications, Strategic Planning, Helath Policy, Business Development, and Regional Outreach departments.


The position requires 10 years of progressive leadership experience. Successful past experience managing complex change initiatives in a healthcare enviornment required. Must be a strategic and visionary leader that takes initiative, has the stamina, emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills to operate strategically and effectively oversee the tactics in order to help drive and achieve differentiating business results.
