The experienced Ventas team shares a commitment to each other and to the Company’s mission of helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives.About the RoleThe Risk Manager, Insurance supports Ventas’s enterprise risk management and insurance programs across a growing healthcare‑focused real estate portfolio. This role partners closely with the Director and VP of Corporate Risk and works cross‑functionally with Accounting, Operations, Legal, and external brokers and consultants. Key responsibilities include:Manage and monitor claims activity across property, casualty, workers’ compensation, auto, professional liability, crime, and employment practices liability programsSupport review and analysis of insurance policies, including terms, conditions, and coverage exclusionsPartner with Accounting on captive insurance financials, actuarial reports, and allocationsOversee invoice management, premium payments, and reconciliation of insurance costsAnalyze loss trends and benchmarking data to support loss mitigation and safety initiativesUtilize and maintain Risk Management Information System (RMIS) data, reporting, and workflowsCoordinate exposure data and loss experience for insurance renewalsSupport construction‑related insurance placements and development due diligenceQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, or a related field; JD or advanced degree preferred5+ years of experience in risk management and insurance, ideally within real estate or healthcare environmentsMust be located in the Chicago, IL surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employmentWillingness to adapt and thrive in a blended work environment with 3-days in office, seamlessly transitioning between remote work and in-office operations.Strong systems orientation with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointExperience managing or developing team members preferredExperience with Origami Risk Management Information System (RMIS) preferredMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the futureThe estimated base salary range for this position is $125,000 – $185,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base salary Ventas reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting.
