APN/PA - Nephrology

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Nephrology Department We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Nephrology Department. Responsibilities Care for patients with chronic kidney disease and acute kidney injury in the inpatient setting under the supervision of an attending nephrologist. Evaluate new patients and perform follow-up care. Monitor kidney function, blood pressure, order appropriate tests, evaluate medications, prescribe and titrate medications. Coordinate care as part of a multidisciplinary team; opportunity for outpatient management of chronic kidney disease, peritoneal dialysis, and home dialysis. Provide comprehensive health care to patients across various states of health or illness in collaboration with physicians following agreed-upon guidelines. Provide weekend coverage 1-2 weekends per month. Requirements Experience in a medical or surgical ICU environment; dialysis experience is a plus. Board certification required. Valid Connecticut license required.
