Who We Are Encuentro Cafe is San Diego’s only Venezuelan restaurant, located in the charming Old Town neighborhood just two blocks south of the trolley station. Since 2011, we’ve been serving up authentic Venezuelan flavors in a cozy, dog-friendly indoor/outdoor setting. From arepas and cachapas to empanadas and tequeños, we take pride in offering a vibrant dining experience that’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dinner. What You’ll Do As a Cook at Encuentro Cafe, you’ll play a key role in delivering the authentic flavors and warm hospitality that our guests love. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing and cooking a variety of traditional Venezuelan dishes with precision and care. Ensuring food quality, taste, and presentation meet our high standards. Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace. Collaborating with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service. Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. What We’re Looking For We’re seeking a passionate and experienced cook who can bring their skills and enthusiasm to our kitchen. To be successful in this role, you’ll need: At least 1 year of cooking experience , preferably in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Good level of Spanish. A strong understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
