Grain Elevator Technician

Job Requirements High School diploma or GED degree or related work experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid driver’s license with CDL, or have the ability to obtain a CDL. Must have computer literacy. Experience with agriculture, farm equipment, and mechanical aptitude is strongly preferred. Essential Functions Assist in the unloading and loading of grain commodities by both truck and rail. This primarily consists of rail cars, semis and occasional straight trucks. Must be able to open and close occasionally hard‑to‑open hopper lids and/or gates on rail cars, trucks, or semi‑trailers using hand cranks and lift gates on occasional straight trucks. Transfer grain using a skid loader, pay loader or other similar equipment. Weigh or measure materials using scales or other measuring devices; sample, test, and maintain grain quality. Facility housekeeping. Perform both preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery. Observe conveyor operations and monitor lights, dials and gauges to maintain specific operating levels and to detect equipment malfunctions. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Inform supervisors of equipment malfunctions that need to be addressed. Perform all job tasks in a safe manner and in compliance with approved procedures, specifically those related to grain elevator operations according to Country Partners Health & Safety Policies, as well as any relevant Federal and State regulations. Provide courteous and responsive customer service. Perform other duties as assigned.
