Registered Nurse / Behavioral Health

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specialized in Behavioral Health to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in inpatient psychiatric care and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality support to our patient population.

Shift Details

Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required

Time Off Policies

Up to 14 days of requested time off (RTO) will be auto approved.
Every other winter and summer holiday is required, with no RTO approved during these periods.
No RTO will be accepted on hard-to-fill days such as Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to patients in the Behavioral Health unit.
Float within scope to meet facility needs and between like units when necessary.
Maintain patient ratios of 1:6 during day and night shifts.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of Behavioral Health RN experience is required.
First-time travelers are accepted.
Current BLS certification is required; Certification in Aggressive Management is preferred.
Must hold a valid Maryland or compact RN license upon submission.
Inpatient and locked-unit Behavioral Health experience is required.
Experience with seclusion and voluntary/involuntary commitment is necessary.
Cerner experience is preferred.

Unit Information

This position is located in a 37-bed Behavioral Health unit with an average daily census of 30 patients. The unit serves adult and geriatric patients requiring acute inpatient psychiatric care. Support services available include social workers, recreational therapy, utilization review, pharmacy, respiratory services, radiology, transportation, and unit-secretary support. Omnicell is utilized for medication dispensing.
