IT Systems DevOps Engineer

Salary: $100,000 - 130,000 per year Requirements:

  • We prefer a bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • We require 3+ years of experience in DevOps.
  • We require 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or a similar role.
  • You should have strong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and networking fundamentals.
  • You should have hands-on experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible or comparable technologies.
  • You should have experience working with open-source technologies and cloud platforms.
  • You should be familiar with Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, and JVM-based server environments.
  • You should have working knowledge of scripting and programming languages such as Python, PHP, Perl, and/or Ruby.
  • You should understand IT operations best practices in highly available, production-critical environments.
  • You should be able to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take ownership of assigned work.
  • You should demonstrate leadership and collaborate well across technical and operational teams.
  • You should bring a proactive, positive mindset and a strong desire to learn and adapt.
  • An AWS architecture certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, is a plus.

Responsibilities:
  • We support the development and engineering of internal solutions that enable our core business operations.
  • We design, deploy, and monitor automation services that connect different business systems.
  • We review, analyze, and improve existing business processes and systems.
  • We assist with the design, deployment, and administration of core business platforms.
  • We contribute to new product implementation while advancing DevOps practices across Engineering.
  • We partner with vendors, engineering teams, and peer operations groups to deliver dependable, scalable solutions.
  • We define and maintain organizational standards, policies, procedures, and best practices for DevOps environments.
  • We build simple, repeatable, and reliable solutions that improve systems, processes, and operational workflows.
  • We lead and coordinate release management activities to ensure controlled and successful deployments.
  • We establish, maintain, and support tools and systems used in development and production environments.
  • We develop, administer, and maintain version control systems and related workflows.
  • We keep comprehensive documentation for DevOps systems, processes, and procedures.
  • We create technical and operational documentation for new systems and solutions to support knowledge transfer to operational teams.
  • We also perform other related duties as needed to support evolving organizational needs.
  • We are responsible for following our information security, cybersecurity, privacy, and environmental management policies, procedures, and standards.
  • We ensure compliance with the requirements of our Information Security Management System and Environmental Management System.
  • We remain alert to and report security or environmental incidents, vulnerabilities, risks, or non-conformities to the appropriate teams.
  • We actively participate in our efforts to strengthen information security and environmental performance.
