Travel Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Portland, OR
Department: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Shift: Days (07:00 AM - 04:30 PM)
Schedule: 4x9-Hour Shifts (36 Hours/Week)

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions.
• Manage airway, pain control, hemodynamic stability, and post-operative recovery needs.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Identify and respond to changes in patient condition and post-operative complications.
• Educate patients and families regarding recovery expectations, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with patient safety standards and PACU best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
• Current AHA or ARC BLS Certification required.
• Current AHA ACLS or ARC ALS Certification required.
• Current AHA PALS or ARC PALS Certification required.
• Recent PACU or critical care experience preferred.
• Strong post-anesthesia assessment and recovery management skills.

Preferred Skills

• PACU experience.
• Critical Care, ICU, ER, or Perioperative nursing experience.
• Airway management and post-operative recovery expertise.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
