Weld Supervisor

Weld Supervisor 2nd Shift Pennsylvania Transformer Technology, LLC. This supervisory position is responsible for production, safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the plant. Provides leadership, direction, and instructions for the unionized workforce. This position also acts as a liaison between production, departments upstream and downstream, and the administrative staff. This is a rotation shift supervisory position. Primary responsibilities include: Leading projects through completion within schedule and budget constraints Maintaining forecast and schedule for the department Ensuring adherence to company ISO standards Communicating before and after each shift with other supervisors Collecting, evaluating, analyzing, and assessing production data Collaborating with other managers and supervisors to coordinate activities Regularly inspecting and evaluating products for quality and defects Identifying and correcting problems and inefficiencies Ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws Plant housekeeping Assisting in determining raw material needs and inventorying materials Employee training Investigating, reconciling, and root cause problem solving Leading and improving a team through daily communication Being self-organized and self-motivated All other duties as assigned Knowledge and skills required: Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma preferred Previous industrial experience of 2-4 years required Knowledge of AWS welding standards Strong root cause and troubleshooting capabilities Previous experience with MIG/TIG/Stick welding Position requirements: Ability to adapt to change Ability to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges Ability to prioritize and multitask Attention to detail Excellent time management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong supervisory and leadership skills Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Physical job demands: Ability to lift 60 lbs., work in extreme hot and cold weather, stand for long periods of time, exposed to loud noise levels, and operate hand and power tools for long periods of time Work in an environment with dirt, grease, and dust Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory Periods of sitting at a desk working on computers Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery Working conditions: Second shift position, Monday through Friday.
