Patient Services Representative (Medical Front Office)

Location: Fort Myers, FL
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $17–$18/hour, based on experience

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Patient Services Representative to join a busy and well-established medical practice in Fort Myers. Position Summary

As the first point of contact for patients, you'll help create a welcoming and positive experience from check-in through check-out. This role is responsible for managing front office operations, coordinating appointments, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients with professionalism and courtesy
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
• Process patient check-out and schedule follow-up visits
• Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and eligibility
• Collect copays, deductibles, balances, and other patient payments
• Assist patients with registration forms and required documentation
• Process referrals, authorizations, physician orders, and related paperwork
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
• Communicate appointment reminders and follow-up instructions
• Coordinate scheduling with providers and clinical staff to maximize office efficiency
• Provide exceptional customer service while supporting daily front office operations
• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous medical front desk experience with both patient check-in and check-out is required.
• Experience as a Medical Receptionist, Patient Services Representative, Medical Front Desk Coordinator, or Medical Scheduler is preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification, patient registration, referrals, and prior authorizations is a plus.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced medical office.
