This is an exciting opportunity to apply your experience in a fast‑paced environment and continue growing your skill What You’ll Do Anchor newscasts for multiple markets Write clear, concise news copy Produce, edit and write content for 24/7 Newswire Post news and video content to newsroom social media platforms Gather audio from press conferences, live events and partner TV stations Produce short‑form reports (voicers/wraps) for anchors on the following shift May be called on to anchor breaking news reports as needed General newsroom responsibilities and other duties as assigned What You’ll Need Self‑motivated to find stories as a reporter and also anchor newscasts for multiple markets Strong social media skills including email, writing/posting for Facebook, X (Twitter) and Instagram Must be willing to work nights, holidays, and weekends Strong on‑air presence and ability to present newscasts with authority Excellent writing and editing ability; excellent grammar Strong time management skills; adept at setting priorities and managing deadlines Knowledgeable and up to date with local, regional, and national trends Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Proficient in media production (primarily audio) and broadcast systems 3+ years’ experience in on‑air journalism in smaller market or college station 4‑year college degree preferred, Communications or Journalism degree a plus What You’ll Bring Respect for others and a strong belief that others should do this in return Ability to work within prescribed guidelines without needing close supervision Problem‑solving skills within established procedures Understanding of when to seek guidance for unforeseen problems Close attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to act in a professional manner and collaborate with colleagues of different levels Location: Atlanta, GA: 1255 Makers Way, Suite A, 30318 Position Type: Regular Time Type: Full time Pay Type: Hourly Benefits Employer sponsored medical, dental and vision with a variety of coverage options Company provided and supplemental life insurance Paid vacation and sick time Paid company holidays A Spirit day to encourage and allow our employees to more easily volunteer in their community A 401K plan Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at no cost – services include telephonic counseling sessions, consultation on legal and financial matters, emotional well‑being, family and caregiving A range of additional voluntary programs, such as spending accounts, student loan refinancing, accident insurance and more!
