Principal Consultant - Critical Minerals

About the Role Principal Consultant – Critical Minerals (USA). The role will contribute to the growth of our global critical minerals consulting team and to the execution of broader Energy Transition team projects for private and public sector clients by providing analytical rigor, expertise in model development, and the ability to manage entire workstreams and develop client‑ready deliverables. Responsibilities Effectively manage workstreams within a project, under the direction of the project manager. Develop advanced cost, financial and market models on critical minerals and metals costs, especially focused on midstream (processing, smelters, refineries). Contribute to business development efforts of our critical minerals consulting practice (proposals, scoping calls, conferences, etc.). Deliver against each project’s plan to ensure on‑time delivery of a quality set of products. Conduct client interviews, workshops, and presentations to gather information and present recommendations. Develop insights and recommendations based on data analysis and industry expertise to enhance our reputation in critical minerals. Efficiently review analysis and modelling efforts done by other team members and provide feedback for improvement. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and understanding of client needs. Work autonomously in the execution of consulting engagements. Qualifications At least four to eight years of experience in industry and/or consulting. Extensive experience in metals and mining consulting or direct mining company experience (geology, operational, strategy, finance roles). Chemical, mining, mineral economics or process engineering experience appreciated. In‑depth knowledge of mine and metals processing operations, including processing costs, market dynamics, supply chains, and regulatory frameworks. Experience in areas related to the energy sector appreciated. Experience in management consulting will be a significant plus. The ability to work with autonomy and minimal direction once priorities are agreed. Minimum qualification: BSc. in a related field. Post‑graduate degree in finance, economics, or business is a strong plus. Strong written and oral presentation skills in English; knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese appreciated. Analytical mindset, prepared to use data to back up opinions. Expectations Some travel is required, with an average around 20% of the time (but could occasionally be more). Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment, providing ideas and open feedback. Right to Work Requirements This role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States. Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $100,000.00 to $125,000.00, adjusted for location, experience, skills, training, licenses, and certifications.
