Specialty Lab Assistant

Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant for their San Diego diagnostic facility to receive, prepare, and process clinical specimens while maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The role operates Monday–Friday early mornings with potential for additional hours based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and prepare clinical specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and enter specimen and patient information into systems
• Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment; perform routine maintenance
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and replenish bench supplies
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and complete administrative records

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Comfortable handling biological specimens and accurately identifying them
• Basic computer skills and data entry proficiency
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet turnaround times
• Pass standardized color blindness test
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Capacity to sit or stand for extended periods

Compensation: $17.75–$22.76 per hour
