The Medical Unit at St. Catherine Hospital specializes in general medical and surgical patient care and is a 48‑bed unit. We treat adult patients that are 16 years and older needing medical or surgical intervention with no overflow from other departments. We are a desirable department because we value teamwork and collaboration. Patient safety and experience is a priority as well as employee job satisfaction. Job Responsibilities As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for: Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. Promoting the optimal health, well‑being, and safety of the patient through the use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrating personal accountability for relationship‑based care, the organizational mission, and core values. Job Requirements Education Requirements Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or endorsement acceptable. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs. Experience Requirements One year RN inpatient experience. Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty. Licenses/Certification Requirements RN license required; current state nursing license or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact. Physical Requirements Medium work – (Exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly). Shift Schedule PRN requires 5 shifts in 6 weeks. 10% PRN differential.
