ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER - CHARLOTTE

Position Summary Will work in the Architecture Department under the Department Manager. Basic Duties Research, program, plan, design, and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, building codes, and building materials and systems. Produce conceptual plans, renderings, and design documents in Revit. Plan and program layout of projects; coordinates and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval. Work with the Project Manager, may direct, supervise, and check activities of in-house engineers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project. Work in tandem with highly collaborative multi-discipline design teams within M3. Assist in research and coordination of materials and products for project specifications. Minimum Qualifications Candidate must have analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail. Must be able to work in a team environment and able to interact with clients and co-workers in a professional and respectful manner. Is a self-starter, detailed oriented and has exceptional organization skills. Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability, including excellent communication abilities. 2+ years of architectural design experience. Understanding and knowledge of building codes, building construction, building systems and site requirements. Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office suite is required. AutoCAD a plus. Candidate must be able to occasionally travel domestically to other M3 offices and project sites to provide field support for new and ongoing projects as needed. Pass a background check.
