Critical Care Physician

Position Overview
Inspire Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Critical Care Physician for a teaching hospital in Salem, MA. This physician will oversee the attending residents and provide insight, instruction, and assistance as needed.


Schedule:
3 days per week
8 or 12-hour shifts (night shift coverage with swing shifts available for the weekends)
Weekdays with PRN weekend scheduling
Ongoing assignment starting August 2026

Schedule:
3 shifts per week
8 and 12-hour shifts with a swing shift availability on the weekends
Rotating nights and weekends


Clinical Setting:
20-bed ICU
Average daily census: 16-19 patients; weekends 8-10

Team structure:
4 APPs
1 MD onsite during the day
Fellows and attending physicians supervising overnight

Responsibilities:
Manage critically ill patients in a Med Surg ICU setting
Provide ongoing assessment, monitoring, and treatment planning
Act as a responding clinician for ICU patients
Collaborate closely with physicians, fellows, and APP team members

Scope of Practice:
No procedures required
No intubations
No invasive lines or bedside procedures
Focus on bread-and-butter ICU care

Requirements:
Board-certified/board-eligible Physician
Active Massachusetts license (or ability to obtain)
Prior ICU or critical care experience preferred
