GRASP has an opening for a part-time college financial aid advisor to work at Poquoson High School during the school year. Advisors are assigned to a particular school 1 day per week during the school year. All training is provided: 2 – 4 days per year in Richmond or virtually.

Job details:

• A GRASP Advisor provides individualized advising to students and parents regarding how best to pay for post-secondary education.
• This Advisor would join with all staff in GRASP’s continuous development work in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion - with those efforts directly furthering GRASP’s mission.
• The usual candidate has a heart for helping students, is committed to the community, and understands the confidentiality of student information.
• While helpful, prior expertise in college financial aid is not required as all necessary information is provided in the training program.
• Similarly, while familiarity with language(s) in addition to English would be beneficial, it is not a requirement for this position.
• A college degree is required. As this position will work directly with students in public schools, a background check is required.
