Customer Service Lead

Your Role & Responsibilities The Customer Service Lead acts as second‑in‑command to support and oversee the customer service team while performing the regular responsibilities of a Customer Service Representative. Responsibilities include: Enter, maintain, update, and process sales orders from receipt to shipment. Assist with issues such as samples, product inquiries, A/R inquiries, shipments from outside warehouse locations, and order follow‑up. Engage in sales‑related activities and direct contact with customers regarding orders or inquiries, coordinating with regional office personnel, the shipping warehouse, and the sales force. Prepare and enter orders received by phone, mail, fax, and portals. Complete picking, shipping, and billing processes. Verify all shipping, billing, pricing, purchase order information, and check computer‑generated Bill of Lading (BOL) status reports. Enter special instructions related to orders, customer instruction requests, customer code maintenance, and notes. Interact regularly with customers, sales force, production, warehouse, and other personnel to resolve problems and provide order status information. Notify purchasing on stock issues such as low or high inventory levels. Operate as a team member on data entry and order intake, supporting other Customer Service Representatives as necessary. Audit customer purchase orders for pricing, quantity, terms, requested ETA, carrier, special shipping instructions, and double‑check orders. Research and resolve credit issues, short pay, and returned material issues. Document and resolve customer complaints. Utilize Brenntag Unified System (BUS) and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers. Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory agencies, including DOL, EEOC, etc. Support the company’s vision and mission. Perform other inventory transactions as needed in the absence of the Customer Service Manager. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong time management and organizational skills. Minimum two years of customer service experience, preferably in distribution, warehousing, or logistics.
