Community Health Worker (CHW) - Any Language P/T

PART Time Community Health WorkeR

NEAAO seeks CHWs to educate and inform the community about health and wellness resources.

Responsibilities

• Make connections with other OPHE-funded partners

• Attend weekly Vaccine Promoters zoom meeting on Thursdays

• Attend weekly CDC/DHHS Zoom meeting on Tuesdays, 3:00-4:30 pm

• Work with organizations and agencies to set up clinics, workshops and health events that reach New Mainers in Westbrook, Portland, Biddeford areas and occasionally, Augusta.

• Represent NEAAO at Health Fairs, School Wellness Fairs, others

• Build relationships with schools, faith communities (mosques), health providers, adult education and libraries to ensure that referrals are made to NEAAO

• Help design surveys for community to identify health needs and experiences

• Keep accurate records; provide reports on a monthly basis

• Attend trainings as required

• Other duties as needed

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills

• B.A. or B.S. degree; Associates accepted with some work experience

• Organized and ability to keep records

• Understanding of Arab and New Mainer community challenges in accessing health care

• Reliable transportation
