Program Specialist

Summary This position is located in Region 8. The ideal candidate for this position will possess knowledge of the Risk MAP Program, Flood Insurance Rate Maps, the National Flood Insurance Program, and regulations supporting floodplain mapping. Experience communicating complex engineering concepts, preparing briefing documents, and presenting presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Learn more about this agency Duties Help What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a Program Specialist. Typical assignments include:
- Managing complex Risk MAP projects.
- Analyzing and evaluating program effectiveness.
- Coordinating with FEMA Regional and National staff.
- Communicating technical information and program guidance.
- You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
- You must successfully pass a background investigation.
- Selective Service registration required.
- Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.
- You must be able to deploy with little or no advance notice to anywhere in the United States and its territories for an extended period of time.

- Managing projects involving floodplain management, risk mapping, and coordination with diverse stakeholders; AND
- Developing new processes to address challenges in hazard mitigation; AND
- Communicating guidance to stakeholders, including preparing reports, briefings, and defending program findings in public or high-level forums.
