Material Handler - 1st Shift

About the Opportunity:• Job Title: Material Handler• Pay Rate: $24.41/Hour• Location: Golden Valley, MN• Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday, 4AM-2:30PM (Mandatory overtime on Afternoons, Fridays & Weekends as needed)• Position Type: Temp to HireRequirements and Qualifications:• High School Diploma or GED• 6 months minimum recent forklift experience (sit-down propane or stand-up electric preferred)• Familiarity with SAP operating systems and Lean Manufacturing practices preferred• Operates power equipment, loads and unloads trucks and moves bulky material or equipment• Exposed to engine exhaust and outside conditions while working on dock.• Walks or stands continuously• Steel Toe Shoes requiredDuties and Responsibilities:• Uses power operated material handling equipment, receives and stores incoming materials. Moves incoming materials and stock from receiving to storage area. Checks move order or identification ticket for location. Stores items in designated area.• Loads and unloads items such as machinery, equipment and raw materials from trailers and flatbeds using wire slings to bind loads while hoisting and moving with power operated material handling equipment.• Process shipments to customers within scheduled timeline. Shipments must meet SQDCI standards and follow proper shipping procedures. Use SAP operating system, as required, to complete shipments, inventory, and move stock.• Fills orders for raw stock and miscellaneous items. Read orders for quantity and description of requested items or materials. Draws materials from storage area, indicates "amount used" on order and spots load in outgoing area.• Inventories materials upon request. Receives request from items in stock, checks file location, counts items by physical or weight count and notifies customers of available supply.• Understand part identification and notify group leader of issues and errors.
