Electromechanical Technician I

Responsible for assembling, packaging, and testing of electromechanical devices including disposable, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical, and video components.

REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs mechanical skills such as assembly, soldering, grinding, buffing, gluing, welding, and cleaning with various solutions and adhesives. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment used by the department. Performs repairs, testing, and alignment of electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, video imaging and HF devices. Provides cross-training for team members. Cleans, packs and processes Electromechanical finished goods, includes working in a clean room environment. Operates manufacturing equipment as required for processes (lathe, milling, hammering, punch presses, pneumatic, grinding, polishing and testing devices, etc.). Performs equipment and room cleaning as needed. Maintains 6S on workspaces, equipment, and room cleaning as needed. Promotes and models RWMIC Core Values in all interactions and responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Completes daily production documentation accurately. Performs laser welding and laser etching for various electromechanical devices as needed. Product testing and inspection for department products. Monitors rate of production / repair and reports to Manager. Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures for assembly processes. Adheres to quality standards for assembly processes, and documents all work as per procedures. Adheres to all PPE and safety requirements. Aware of and complies with the RWMIC Quality Manual and regulations & requirements as they apply to this job type/position. Completes all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines. Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager - Electromechanical.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years of assembly experience required in a repair/production environment. Must be flexible to work different shifts or overtime as needed to support production schedules and meet quality objectives. Ability to work with small parts. Ability to work with magnification equipment such as microscopes, eye loops, etc. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read Blueprints. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) preferred. Understanding of mechanical principles and common hand tools. Experience using measuring instruments such as: gauges, micrometers, calipers, and comparators. Understanding of electronic measuring equipment such as digital multimeters, preferred. Beginner PC skills. Experience with and understanding of multi-cultural and multi-generational differences and the ability to work within this environment is crucial for successful employment. The following physical demands are required: Stand/Sit/Walk 8 hours per day Lift/Carry up to 25 pounds Bend/Stoop/Kneel 4 hours per day Push/Pull up to 50 pounds The following work environment conditions may exist: Infectious Diseases Exposure Chemicals Exposure UV Light Exposure Laser Exposure RWMIC offers annual Immunizations for Hep B and Flu Shots to all RWMIC employees.
