Job Summary APPLICANT MUST BE ABLE to TIG/Stick and TIG/Fluxcore, and pass the Welding Tests. THIS JOB IS AT The PIPE FAB SHOP IN PORT ALLEN, LA Works under the direction of a foreman, interprets weld maps and weld procedures, identifies material types and welds pipe spools. Functional Requirements Read and sign off on JSA prior to starting shift Pass required welding test(s) in a 6G position, GTAW, GTAW/SMAW, GTAW/FCAW Be familiar with weld map, weld procedure, weld process numbers, filler metal selection guide, preheat & welding symbols, material color codes, weld wire color codes, etc. Grind tacks with pneumatic grinders Aware of surroundings Assist in setting up and taking down pipe spools Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times Qualification Standards Preferably two to four years of experience in specified skill Pre-employment qualification test if applicable & required Welding tests Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation Hazard Communication orientation/test Turner Industries Group Indoctrination OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87) Job site orientation Job site "Personal Protective Equipment" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc) Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace Physical Requirements Climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level Maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. Reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials Coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment Lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead Carrying objects, tools equipment, etc. Standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling Seeing with or without correction Hearing with or without correction Mental Requirements Following set procedures and standards Applying basic mathematical skills Planning work and selecting proper tools Comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects Picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawing or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked Following oral and/or written directions, plans and blueprints Reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards Work Environment Location Industrial maintenance and construction sites, equipment yard and/or fabrication shop Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site Uneven ground level Obstructed pathways Work performed at low and/or high elevations Work performed in confined areas Climatic/Environmental Conditions Predominately outdoor climate May be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc. Various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc. Potential exposure to chemical substances Equal Opportunity Statement Turner Industries is an equal employment opportunity employer.
