The chief purpose of this position in support of The Pauley HeartCenter's mission is to SERVE in an hourly paid/PRN role within theCARDIOLOGY PROGRAM AT TAPPAHANNOCK HOSPITAL PROVIDING CLINICAL CAREto include clinic, reading of cardiovascular diagnostics, inpatientconsults, supervision of stress testing and other credentialedpatient care services.

Responsibilities

1. Teaching To support teaching directly via interactionswith Fellows, Housestaff and non-physician professionals. Periodically will be expected to present appropriate reviews inpatient management discussions at Cardiology and Department ofInternal Medicine conferences. In addition, will be expected toparticipate in University Continuing Medical Education programs forpracticing physicians which is important to enhancing patientreferrals.
2. Research To support clinical research protocols asneeded.
3. Service Will be expected to participate in quality,safety and efficiency initiatives.
4. Clinical Will primarily be dedicated to the outpatient,inpatient and consultative clinical services. Will collaborateacross hospital departments to include Primary Care, Hospitalists,ED and Imaging. Will also collaborate with VCUMC and CMH Cardiologyproviders to set and implement appropriate standards of practicerelated to cardiac care.
5. Other (for instance administrative duties, etc.) Submitbilling and document care as required by the organization. Abide byall medical staff requirements.

Qualifications

Candidates should be/have:

• A BC/BE cardiologist with demonstrated skills in cardiovasculardisease.
• Clinically oriented and possess sufficient research andteaching experience to be eligible for academic appointment.
• Able to communicate effectively and work with a largemultidisciplinary program.
• Will be expected to participate in teaching and Fellowshipprograms.
• Eligible for medical licensure in State of Virginia .
• Demonstrated ability to work in an d foster an environment ofrespect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, orcommitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
