• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 10-hour day shifts, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
• Weekend Requirements: None
• On-Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: May float to sister units and on-campus surgery settings based on patient volume and unit needs

Job Requirements

• Active Virginia RN license
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of pre-op admission experience
• Strong experience using Epic EMR
• Excellent IV skills strongly preferred
• Experience supporting a surgical patient population from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-based care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient nursing care for pre-op admissions and perioperative patients
• Complete patient assessments, verify readiness for surgery, and prepare patients for the next phase of care
• Monitor patients closely and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic EMR
• Assist with IV placement and other pre-procedure nursing tasks as needed
• Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and support teams to ensure smooth patient flow
• Float to related surgical units as needed to support case volume and unit needs
• Deliver compassionate patient care while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
