Shifts: Straight Nights 7p-7:00a EOW and Holiday, float to postpartum as needed


Seven Healthcare are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) for a travel assignment in Ohio. This role involves providing comprehensive care to expectant mothers and their newborns in a bustling healthcare environment, ensuring safe and successful childbirth experiences.

Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

• Perform comprehensive assessments of maternal and fetal health during labor, delivery, and recovery.
• Monitor vital signs, fetal heart rates, contractions, and other indicators of labor progress.
• Administer medications, including epidurals and induction agents, as prescribed.
• Educate patients and families on labor processes, pain management options, and postpartum care.
• Assist patients during all stages of labor, including natural births, assisted deliveries, and cesarean sections.
• Provide emotional and physical support to patients and families during labor and delivery.
• Operate and monitor medical equipment, such as fetal monitors and IV pumps.
• Anticipate and respond quickly to complications, such as preterm labor, fetal distress, or hemorrhage.
• Provide immediate postpartum care to mothers, including monitoring complications such as bleeding or infection.
• Support and educate patients in breastfeeding and newborn care.
• Perform initial newborn assessments, including Apgar scoring, weight, and vital signs.
• Collaborate closely with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and pediatricians to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in electronic medical systems.
• Participate in emergency interventions, such as neonatal resuscitation or emergency cesarean deliveries.
• Stay current on labor and delivery best practices through continuing education.

Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

• Current RN license in the state of Ohio
• BLS and NRP through American Heart Association
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in labor and delivery or women's health
• NICU/Level II SCN training preferred
