Managing Director

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Managing Director for a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing patient advocacy, education, research, and community support within the healthcare space. This is a remote, full-time leadership opportunity based in the United States.


POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Managing Director will serve as the organization's senior operational and strategic leader, working closely with the Board of Directors to advance organizational priorities, programs, fundraising initiatives, and community engagement efforts. This role offers the opportunity to guide a growing nonprofit making a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and families navigating complex healthcare experiences. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and compassionate leader who brings strong organizational oversight, relationship-building skills, and a passion for mission-driven work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight in partnership with the Board of Directors
• Guide organizational planning, program development, and mission-driven initiatives
• Support fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and external partnership development
• Oversee financial operations, compliance activities, and organizational reporting processes
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and people-centered organizational culture
• Represent the organization through community outreach, advocacy, and public engagement efforts

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience leading operations, programs, fundraising, or strategic initiatives within a nonprofit, healthcare, advocacy, or mission-driven environment
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
• Demonstrated success managing organizational priorities, projects, or teams
• Knowledge of nonprofit operations, budgeting, and partnership development preferred
• Passion for community impact, patient advocacy, healthcare education, or related mission-focused work

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:


This full-time exempt opportunity offers an annual salary range of $80,000-$85,000, along with a flexible remote work environment and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through mission-driven leadership. Occasional evening or weekend availability may be needed for meetings or special events, and limited travel may be required.
