Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a CT Technologist in Athol, Massachusetts. This role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures including computed tomography (CT) scans and mammography, ensuring high-quality images, safety, and regulatory compliance. The technologist will operate all diagnostic equipment, evaluate patients, and maintain accurate records within a fast-paced clinical environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; Massachusetts License to practice Radiologic Technology; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification preferred, but must obtain within one year of hire; CPR certification; ability to read and communicate effectively in English; additional languages and strong written and verbal skills are preferred; basic computer knowledge.
• Preferred Qualifications: A.S. Degree; advanced registration in CAT Scan or Mammography (preferred but not required).
• Position Responsibilities:
  • Performs CT and mammography scans, ensuring all images include proper demographic information, appropriate density, contrast, and reconstructed images for high-quality outputs.
  • Conducts daily quality assurance procedures for CT and mammography, records compliance data.
  • Operates hospital Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to transmit images accurately.
  • Coordinates and retrieves studies between servers to ensure exam availability for radiologists.
  • Follows established image criteria for patient positioning and anatomical accuracy.
  • Ensures all radiographs include markers, demographic data, and proper technical parameters.
  • Operates all diagnostic equipment, including general diagnostic, fluoroscopic, portable, and surgical equipment, adhering to proper techniques.
  • Assesses patients to determine appropriate exposure techniques, taking extra precautions for pregnant women or women of childbearing age (13-55).
  • Appropriately utilizes collimation, safety measures, and protective devices.
  • Reviews physician orders for accuracy, enters data into the Meditech Computer System.
  • Maintains a safe environment, including proper handling of sharps, toxic substances, and fall prevention strategies.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, adjusting for hearing difficulties among elderly patients.
  • Implements pain management techniques and ensures physical security, following policies to prevent abduction.
  • Provides appropriate accommodations for elderly patients, including seating during extended procedures.
  • Ensures environmental safety to prevent falls, slips, and trips.
