Job Title Field Service Engineer (FIELD REMOTE - Canton/Cincinnati/Columbus OH) Location US Remote - OH. Seeking engineers for remote field roles servicing customers located in Canton, Cincinnati, and Columbus, Ohio. Job Description The Field Service Engineer provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. The Field Engineer will instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system and serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. This role may include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking. Job Responsibilities Perform installations, maintenance, validations, and repairs while ensuring compliance with PerkinElmer’s service standards and key performance indicators. Engage with customers to understand their analytical workflows and tailor service offerings, including training, support, and upgrades. Enhance account profitability through efficient service execution and by identifying revenue opportunities such as billable work, consumables, and service leads. Maintain assigned assets, including tools, test equipment (MTE), telecommunication equipment, and service parts inventory. Proactively report improvement opportunities via the quality notification process. Attend higher level certification through participation in company-sponsored training & development offerings. Complete all administrative tasks, including but not limited to time reporting and assigned training. Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment. Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline including military experience plus 3 years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment. Associate Degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline including military experience plus 5 years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment. High School Diploma plus 7+ years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment. Preferred Qualifications Detailed knowledge of analytical equipment, laboratory environment, and/or instrument control software. Vendor issued certification on relevant laboratory equipment. Knowledge of laboratory safety practices as defined by the Company and/or the customer’s site safety code. Ability to travel by air, vehicle and/or other means of transportation as business requires; travel will vary depending on territory requirements and customer base typically up to 50% of the time. Valid driver’s license and safe motor vehicle operation. Working Environment Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.). Job pace may be fast and demands may be high. Able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time, move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and onsite buildings. Frequently operate instruments, tools or controls requiring bending, squatting, stretching and reaching. Occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds (potential for up to 50 pounds). Must observe required vision abilities, use computer and other office machinery. Handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations. May need Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing to wear a respirator. Compensation The annual compensation range for this full‑time position is $58,760.00 to $75,000.00. Final base pay offered will be determined by internal equity, location, and individual qualifications.
