GCP Data Engineer

Job Title

Required Skills:

• GCP Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and tools, including GCP databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), Data Flow, and related services.
• GKE + Google Data flow
• PostgreSQL Administration: Strong knowledge and experience in administering PostgreSQL databases, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• MongoDB Administration: Proficiency in administering MongoDB databases, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
• Data Flow: Experience with Google Cloud Data Flow or Apache Beam for data processing and streaming.
• Database Security: Familiarity with database security best practices, including access controls, authentication mechanisms, and encryption.
• Database Monitoring and Performance Analysis: Proficiency in monitoring and analyzing database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and providing recommendations for optimization.
• Collaboration and Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with the ITSCo team, stakeholders, and other technical personnel.
• Documentation and Reporting: Ability to maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures. Experience in generating reports on database performance and issue resolution.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and integrity of database configurations, access controls, and troubleshooting activities.
• Problem-solving and Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Read-Only Access Provisioning: Set up and configure read-only access to PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Data Flow databases for ITSCo team members, following security and access control guidelines.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve database-related issues, such as performance problems, data corruption, and system failures. Collaborate with the ITSCo team to troubleshoot and implement solutions effectively.
• Database Monitoring and Performance Analysis: Monitor the performance of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Data Flow databases, identify bottlenecks, and provide recommendations for optimization to ensure efficient database operations.
• Security Compliance: Ensure that all access controls, authentication mechanisms, and encryption measures are properly implemented and maintained to protect the integrity and security of the databases.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of access configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures. Generate regular reports on database performance, issues, and resolutions.
• Collaboration and Support: Collaborate effectively with the ITSCo team, providing guidance and expertise on database-related matters. Communicate and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and
