RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

/n

• Work 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
/n• Weekend coverage required - 6 shifts in 6 weeks, every other weekend
/n• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
/n• 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
/n• Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment
/n• Adult MS tele only - not expected to care for pediatric patients
/n• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (PALS not required)
/n• Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
/n• Weekly orientation with 24 orientation hours
/n• Skills include accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, telemetry monitoring, wound care, and various other medical/surgical procedures
/n• Care for patients with diagnoses including diabetes, CHF, infection, sepsis, COPD, general surgery cases, and post-surgical patients
/n• Work with special equipment including patient lifts, PCA pumps, chest tubes, telemetry monitoring, and capnography
/n• No more than 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract with no RTO during first two weeks
/n• Must have Maryland license or compact license at time of submission

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive medical/surgical telemetry unit with 34 rooms and 44 beds, maintaining a daily census of 32 patients. The facility features a robust orthopedic program including total joint procedures, along with colorectal surgeries, vascular procedures, and bariatric surgery. The unit provides extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams. Most surgical cases are placed on this unit, making it a dynamic environment for experienced medical/surgical nurses.
