Major Gift Officer Colorado Ballet Company is a Denver-based nonprofit organization celebrating over 65 years of excellence. Colorado Ballet's mission is to present exceptional classical ballet and contemporary dance through performances, training, education and community engagement while inspiring and growing an increasingly diverse audience base. Under the direction of the Artistic Director, Gil Boggs, Colorado Ballet presents more than 50 performances annually to sold-out audiences in the 2,080-seat Ellie Caulkins Opera House. The Raydean Acevedo Colorado Ballet Academy serves over 1,200 students each year, from toddlers to seniors. Colorado Ballet's Education and Community Engagement programming engages with students, teachers, families, people with disabilities, and lifelong learners, making more than 35,000 contacts in 300 schools and organizations annually. Colorado Ballet seeks a relationship-driven Major Gift Officer to join its Advancement team. This frontline fundraising role manages a dynamic portfolio of individual and corporate donors, driving philanthropic support through strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Major Gift Officer plays a key role in growing contributed revenue and deepening donor engagement in support of Colorado Ballet's mission. Key Duties and Functions Manage and grow a portfolio of 100125 donors and prospects (approximately 65% individual, 35% corporate), focused on gifts of $2,500 to $10,000+ Develop and execute individualized strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, with a focus on retention and upgrades Build and maintain strong relationships through regular, meaningful donor engagement and moves management Partner with the Development team to support the growth and success of the Premier Society and major gifts program Advance donor stewardship by connecting supporters to the impact of their philanthropy through compelling communications and experiences Identify and pursue new individual and corporate prospects to expand the donor base Maintain accurate, timely records of all donor interactions and activity in the CRM system Represent Colorado Ballet at donor events, including Friends of Colorado Ballet, Premier Society gatherings, and the annual Gala Support planned giving efforts through donor identification and relationship building Qualifications 4+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with demonstrated success in securing major gifts or managing donor relationships Experience working with both individual and corporate donors preferred Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills with a donor-centered approach Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage a portfolio independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of fundraising best practices and moves management Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and donor engagement Benefits Medical, dental, vision, LTD, 401(k) with employer match, competitive paid time off and holidays, and complimentary season tickets.
