Immediate need for a talented Lab Technician with experience in the Pharmaceuticals Industry. This is a 06+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Morrisville, NC. Please review the job description below.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• The successful Contractor applicant will have industry or significant academic experience in laboratory research and a desire to continue in a laboratory focused role.
• This position will join a larger team of scientists across multiple sites focused on advancing client's gene therapy platform.
• The Contractor will be a member of the Gene Therapy Capsid Development team that will support the execution of Client AAV viral vector development projects and RDRU portfolio projects, including recombinant virus vector design, cloning, and production and disease area indication development.
• It is imperative that the candidate be able to work closely and cooperatively with a team and communicate effectively to meet schedules and deadlines in accordance with client Values.
• Maintain an organized and clean laboratory space.
• Maintain a rotating stock of supplies.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills.
• A documented ability to learn specific protocols and follow them consistently and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Takes the initiative to solve scientific problems and contribute to their resolution.
• Able to work in a fast paced team environment with changing priorities.
• Works under minimal supervision and an ability to plan and carry out experiments independently,
• Support laboratory activities by monitoring lab equipment and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Authors technical reports as needed.
• Evaluate data and provide clear reports that can be shared and transferred to and from cross-functional teams.
• Pay attention to detail use knowledge of basic laboratory procedures to advance projects under rapidly shifting priorities and timelines.
• Rigorous critical thinking.
• Learn specific protocols and follow them consistently, and be able or willing to contribute or improve upon established techniques.
• Molecular Biology Techniques including qPCR, plasmid development (design, cloning, and preparation), DNA/RNA extraction, and Western Blot.
• Support AAV production, purification, and QC.
• Handling and preparing murine/NHP tissues for genomic or protein extraction.
• Experience with mammalian cell transfection.
• Experience with plasmid design software (VectorNTI, DNAStar, etc).
• The preferred candidate will have had prior experience handling and assessing AAV viral vectors in a capsid development.
