General Statement of Duties
The duties of this employee are to provide clerical, technical, and administrative assistance in the daily operations of an assigned service area or department; provides administrative/clerical support to an assigned supervisor; and has input on decisions and problem solving related to assigned area of responsibility. Performs related duties as required.
DISTINQUISHING CHARACTERISTICS The Administrative Technician at Krohn Conservatory plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of one of Cincinnati's most treasured public spaces. This position provides comprehensive administrative support to park leadership, horticultural staff, volunteers, and seasonal employees. Key responsibilities include customer service, clerical work, onboarding support, time and labor tracking, assisting with the gift shop and public programming, and ensuring efficient communication and scheduling across departments. This role is essential in helping Krohn Conservatory deliver outstanding visitor experiences and successful seasonal shows.
DISTINQUISHING CHARACTERISTICS This is a bridge classification in the classified service between positions in the clerical series and positions in the Administrative Specialist series. The Administrative Technician class combines advanced clerical skills with frequent use of judgment and interpretive ability related to research, data collection, analysis, report writing, and follow-up. This class is distinguished from advanced level clerical classes by the scope of responsibilities, difficulty, and complexity of functions and assignments performed, the degree of independent judgment for resolving function problems, and the degree of impact those judgments have on the department or division.
