Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants play a crucial role in delivering therapy services and collaborating with licensed SLPs and school staff. For the 2026-2027 academic year, this onsite position offers the chance to work directly with students in Birmingham, Alabama, making a tangible difference in their learning and communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited SLPA program or equivalent.
• Current ASHA certification and active ABSESPA licensure.
• Possession of a valid Professional Educator Certification.
• All credentials and licensure required for SLPA practice in Alabama.
• Successful fingerprinting and background clearance.
• Previous experience in school settings is highly valued.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide speech and language therapy services to students according to IEP goals, under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and session documentation.
• Assist in creating materials and modifying activities to support student engagement and learning.
• Participate in meetings with educational teams to support student outcomes.
• Adapt interventions based on student responses and feedback.
• Positively contribute to the school community, advocating for student needs and promoting a supportive learning environment.

This contract position, available for up to four professionals, runs from August 7, 2026, through June 10, 2027. Assignment and specific caseload will be determined by school needs and student distribution, all services delivered onsite.
