This role is responsible for maintaining plating lab chemistry, ensuring process compliance, and supporting production quality through accurate chemical analysis, process control, and continuous improvement. The Lab Chemist will play a key role in precious metals management, troubleshooting, and driving improvement initiatives within the plating operations.What You Will DoPerform routine chemical analysis of plating baths using titration, ICP, pH measurement, and Hull Cell PanelsMonitor plating chemistry for gold, silver, and palladium plating bathsManage precious metals inventory and reconciliationSupport gold savings and cost improvement initiativesMaintain lab equipment calibration and accurate recordsTroubleshoot plating baths for quality issues and lead root cause analysis on plating defectsEnsure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and internal EHS standardsMaintain chemical inventory and track expiration datesSupport audits (ISO/IATF) and ensure documentation complianceLiaise with refinery vendors for precious metals recyclingCoordinate with EHS and waste treatment vendors for disposal of waste chemicalsMonitor and support the wastewater treatment operationMonitor final discharge water quality to ensure compliance with regulationsLead precious metals improvement projectsMay provide technical guidance to Lab TechniciansPerform additional duties as assigned by management to support plating operations and organizational objectivesWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Chemistry or a related fieldChemical lab or manufacturing experienceKnowledge of chemical analysis techniquesDocumentation and reporting experienceExperience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)What Will Put You AheadSpecialization in electrochemistry or platingExperience in electroplating and precious metals managementThis role is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship or VISA Transfer.
